Hey Smidgers,
2016 is gone, and 2017 has started with a bang here at Smidge. I want to take a few minutes of your time to explain my spotty performance last year.
As you know, I work in the Oil and Gas industry. Everybody knows how bad that industry has fared over the last year or so. I am thankful that I have been able to keep working through all of the slowdowns, pay cuts, and layoffs. I have many friends that haven’t been as fortunate as I have been.
With the industry in its current state, the company that I work for implemented a crazy work schedule in the beginning of 2016. I did the math and figured out that I was home for a total of about 10 weeks all of last year. You can imagine how that affected my blogging. I would get home and just not have it in me to cook or work on the tiny house or keep in touch with friends and family. I would just want to hibernate at home, knowing that another long hitch was coming.
Well, all of that is changing! I have a new job! I will no longer be working in the oil and gas industry. With the change, I should be able to be better going forward. I have several posts in the works, and I plan on re-visiting the Kitchen 101 series that I talked about, then left alone while the tiny house took over our life. So here’s to 2017. May it be everything you want it to be.
Oh! I almost forgot. Here is a teaser from the tiny house. I can’t wait to show you what’s behind door number 1!
So until next time Smidgers…
